Rajiv Gandhi Renewable Energy Park (RGREP) is a nodal Energy Centre developed by the Haryana Renewable Energy Development Authority (HAREDA) with the support of Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India. RGREP works with different market segments such as Industrial, Household and the Government in promoting and implementing sustainable development initiatives.
RGREP aims to create awareness among the different sections of society (general public, corporate, academics, students, government agencies and non- governmental organizations etc) on Renewable Energy, Energy Conservation, Energy Efficiency & Climate Change related areas. In order to augment the required expertise, HAREDA has appointed leading organizations Advit Foundation (advit.org), Gurgaon and Greenstratos Consulting (greenstratos.com), Hyderabad as Management Partners for the Energy Centre.
Under this contract, Advit Foundation and Greenstratos will work under the aegis of HAREDA in the following areas:
- Help implement, monitor and improvise government programmes in the areas of renewable energy, energy conservation and climate
change
- Capacity building, awareness building and educating citizens & students on energy efficiency, climate mitigation including demonstration
of various clean technologies, gadgets and training on impacts of climate change and necessity to contribute to climate mitigation
- Work with industry to enable adoption of newer and cleaner technologies, gain energy efficiencies and in designing and implementing a
sustainable development strategy.
- Enable corporate houses to become climate and environment responsible by helping them devise CSR strategies focused on renewable
energy areas and help implement the same
- Create a market place to bring together Indian industry and international technology & solution providers
- Provide a platform for clean technology innovators to find market, investors and support from national and international agencies
- Serve as a capacity building and implementation agency for initiatives of bi-lateral and multi-lateral agencies
- Serve as a lobbying body for the renewable and energy efficiency sector to help communicate with the state and central governments on
the needs and recommendations.
