Book Distribution to BURM Schools

September 24, 2010 

RGREP, in association with HAREDA and the Haryana Education Department, organized a book distribution programme. Books were distributed to 25 Government schools falling under the Bal Urja Rakshak Mission (BURM) project of the Haryana Government. On this occasion, educational books on topics such as Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Climate Change etc. were distributed to schools. The event was presided over by officials from the Haryana Education Department and was attended by almost 50 school teachers and 70 students.

 

Haryana CM’s Visit on the occasion of Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas

August 20, 2010 

The Honorable Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri. Bhupinder Singh Hooda visited RGREP, on the occasion ‘Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas’ to promote Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency in Gurgaon. Director HAREDA, Smt. Sumita Misra, Deputy Commissioner of Gurgaon Shri. Rajender Kataria, the MCG Commissioner Shri. Rajesh Khullar, HUDA Administrator Shri. Nitin Yadav, and other Government officials accompanied the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister and all the other delegates took a tour of the Centre and were intrigued by the various Renewable Energy based models, quizzes and games housed at the Centre.

 

Environment Conservation Activity for SOIL Students

July 7, 2010 

School of Inspired Leadership (SOIL) – a business school in Gurgaon – visited the Energy Centre as part of an Environment education programme for their students. A group of about 80 students were part of the programme where they had an interactive talk about Advit and its initiatives. They also watched an environment related movie, took a tour of the Energy Centre and also planted trees. The students were very enthused and promised to visit again.

 

 

Environment Day Celebrations at Jindals

June 5, 2010 

The day was 5th June and Bhikaji Kama Place was unusually quiet, thanks to a beautiful Saturday morning. Being soaked in the spirit of World Environment day, Jindal House, the headquarters of Jindal Group invited Advit Foundation to celebrate the day with them. We were quite happy to see a welcome hoarding across the road that further proved the point. Good thing was that the celebrations were not only for the Jindal’s employees but also kept in mind the common folklore as well.

 

 

RWAs Meet at Club PATIO

May 22, 2010 

One day awareness program on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency is being organized for the Resident Welfare Association members and other residents of Gurgaon. The program would present options for Energy Efficiency in Buildings, Homes & Community Centres, Options to save on Energy & Costs, Subsidies the Government has to offer to save Energy & Adopt Renewable Energy and Connect Manufacturers, Suppliers & Solution Providers of Renewable Energy and
Energy Efficient devices to the residents.

Cleantech Conclave

Energy Fair

April 17 - 18 , 2010

A two day Energy Fair is being held from Apr 17 to 18 at the Rajiv Gandhi Renewable Energy Park (RGREP), Energy Centre, Gurgaon. With growing emphasis on energy efficiency and becoming carbon responsible, the fair aims to bring the exhibitors and renewable energy (RE) products close to the communities. It would give an opportunity to the community  to learn about these issues.

 

Solar Cooking Workshop

April 2, 2010

Gurgaon witnessed a unique Solar event on April 3, 2010. No, we are not talking astronomy here! The Rajiv Gandhi Renewable Energy Park (RGREP), an initiative of Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency, and Advit Foundation, an NGO dedicated towards the cause of environment conservation, organized a solar cooking and baking workshop. The event was well attended by over 25 participants. The event exhibited a variety of types of solar cookers available in the market today. Smt Sudha Nautiyal, Director of SEEDS effectively demonstrated cooking on the Dish type SK – 14 and Box type solar cookers. The temperatures on the SK-14 reach almost 300 deg C! This was demonstrated by burning pieces of wood!
